My name is Eva Lang, and I live in Brooklyn, New York.  I am a sophomore in high school, and some of my favorite things to do are reading, cooking, and traveling.

Last summer, I went on ILE.  My mom went on it when she was a teenager, and I had been wanting to do it for a couple of years. On my first day in Ireland, I was terrified, and I thought I had made a terrible mistake by doing it.  But by the end of the program, I did not want to go home.

 

Everything about ILE was incredible, from Riverdance to the day we spent biking around the Aran Islands.  Even the things I was skeptical about were really fun, like the Gaelic football match at Croke Park.  The classes were really interesting, and the people were amazing.  I know that, although memories of exploring the Burren, or seeing the Rock of Cashel might fade away, I will always remember the wonderful people that I travelled around Ireland with.
