I throughly enjoyed myself on the Irish Life Experience. I have never had so much fun in my entire life. It really was a trip of a lifetime. Even though our group was small, we all got really close and I think that we will all stay friends through out our later years. Something about the essence of Ireland brought us together within the first few mintues of being together. My first memory of the trip was falling asleep with one of the other students on the trip in JFK Airport waiting for others to arrive. This was our first chance to see eveyone and I was coming all the way from Anchorage, Alaska-not knowing anyone. We all were excited about the trip and you could feel the energy moving through everyone as more people begun to show up. I dont know about everyone else, but I was so tired that first day I barely knew my own name! But as soon as we arrived in Ireland I seemed to instantly wake up. Everything about it I loved. I had not even been out of the airport and I knew that I was in love with this country. Honestly by the end of the trip I felt like every single person on the trip was a brother or sister. The Counselors on the trip are fantastic. You could not ask for better people to run this program. They are five of the nicest, most kind hearted people I think that I will ever meet. If you have any doubts about this trip they will be willing to answer them for you. When I told people about my summer plans they thought I was crazy for going off with people that I had never met before to a foreign country. But I think it was a great way to see a new place and a good opportunity for those who are not very independent to grow within themselves.
